Workforce Development

Inmate workers learn valuable job skills by setting up and operating machines to cut, punch, form, print and laminate metal.

Expertise

The inmates take a tremendous amount of pride in what they do and quality work that they produce.

Improving Our State

Correction Enterprises, a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, provides inmates with opportunities to learn job skills by producing high quality products and services to meet the needs of the state agencies and other tax-supported entities.

No money is appropriated by the general assembly for the operation of correction enterprise. In fact, correction Enterprises contributes over $6.5 million to the state's general fund every year.

Correction Enterprises aids in reducing recidivism by providing inmates with meaningful job skills that are easily transferable to private sector job upon release.
